PA - Polyamide (Nylon)

PA – Polyamide (Nylon)
PA is an extremely fine engineering plastic with great strength and toughness. PA is found in many modifications, for instance PA6, PA6.6, PA11, PA12 etc. PA11 and PA 12 are transparent. PA6 and PA6.6 are the most commonly used materials for injection moulding, for instance with different additives like glass balls, glass fibres and lubricants like MoS2.
PA6 with glass fibres is an extremely strong and heat-resistant material, but because of the glass content the surface is not that attractive. PA6.6 with MoS2 is highly suitable for sliding bearings etc. PA absorbs moisture and does not gain full strength before this process has taken place. At the same time as the absorption a dimensional modification takes place.
Typically used for adjusting screws, thumbscrews, wheels, bearings, spacers, slide blocks, tube joints, lighting components, and fittings.
Maximum use temperature, unstressed 100º C (filled with glass 110º C). Glueable.
Density approx. 1,5 g/cm³ (PA6 30% glass).
